Der Heitzerpfad mit meinen zwei freunden, Damen und Jurgen

it was a pretty long ride, and it started damn early. i hung out in the pain locker for most of it, but damn, if it wasnt fun. we met at 5 at the standard westside meeting place. the sun started to rise while we rode up barr. i could feel the pace was a little high for me, but rode along, admiring the reddish tints of the eastern horizon. i lagged farther and farther behind until i just couldnt take it anymore. i stopped, sat down, and ate. if i had kept riding i'm sure i would have bonked so hard i would have bounced when i fell off my bike.

i think i did it at the right time though, cause i felt way better on the descent. although one couldnt help but feel better on that descent for so many reasons. if you are having a bad day while riding flat/downhill singletrack through aspengroves with loamy soil on a sunny day in colorado, there is something seriously wrong with the universe. i should have stopped, layed down and taken a nap, or at least spent most of the day there, but it was still only 7:03 and i didnt want to slow damen and jurgen down any more than i already had.

heitzer: my guess is 17 switchbacks, but the number could be between 8 and 73. i cleared all but one (1). had to dab as my front wheel washed out. ute pass trail was fun and mellow as i didnt have to bleed out my eyes to keep up with the fellas.

got to work and am tired as shit. totally useless. good thing i got most of today's work done yesterday.
